The building's history

 Sebel Townhouse Hotel

Opened in 1963, it quickly gained an international reputation for its privacy and attentive service. The building was later transformed into luxury private apartments called The Encore, maintaining some of its original modernist outlines while offering contemporary living spaces.

Became a Celebrity Hub

It was the unofficial home of the Australian music industry in the 1970s and 1980s, a place where touring stars like Elton John and David Bowie stayed.
